What is the meeting timer?
The meeting timer is an integrated tool that helps you track time directly within your Sherpany meeting. It aligns with your agenda items and their planned duration, so you always know how much time is left, without leaving the platform.
Why using it?
The meeting timer helps you to:
- Keep everything in one place: no need to switch to tools like Microsoft Teams just to see a timer, you can plan, run, and time your meeting directly in Sherpany,
- Follow a timer that knows your agenda: the timer aligns with your Sherpany agenda items and their duration,
- Show clear time for everyone: in hybrid meetings, you can share your screen so all participants see the remaining time and stay focused.
This helps you keep your meetings within the scheduled slot while protecting the quality of discussion and decisions.
How to use it?

- Click the timer button during a meeting to show or hide the timer. The timer is only visible to you.
- Once shown, the timer compares the planned time to the actual time. For example, if an agenda item is planned from 16:00 to 16:15, the timer will show "5m left" at 16:10.
- You do not need to start the timer manually, it can be shown at any point during the meeting. It also adjusts automatically if the total duration of your agenda items differs from the planned meeting time, or if an agenda item has a duration of 0 minutes.
- You can expand the timer to see the full timeline of your meeting, and hover over any agenda item to see its remaining or overdue time.
- You can also detach the timer into its own mini browser window, which is particularly useful when sharing your screen during hybrid meetings.
Please note
The timer button is not available to guests with restricted access.
